                                Town of Fairview Park
                      Minutes of the October 9, 2001 Meeting

  The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Tonya Smith, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and Attorney Henry L. Antonini present.
  The minutes of the September meeting and financial report were approved with a motion by Norma and seconded by David. The motion carried by voice vote.`
  Eric Smith, Hannum, Wagle & Cline advised that Division A, everything east of the highway has been completed, tested and passed. There is approximately 3200 feet of pipe to lay on the West Side. After the pipe is finished work will be completed on the three lift stations with completion scheduled for the end of November. Paving has begun on the East Side and should be completed this fall. Division B is 95% complete with subcontractors finishing up some electrical and mechanical work. Pre final inspection will take place within the next two weeks. Eric presented 2 inspected and approved pay requests for contractors.
  Three complaints concerning sewer construction were voiced and noted by Eric and Inspector Brad Hay.
   A motion was made by Norma and seconded by David to send a letter of commitment to Larry Carlson, Vermillion County Community Foundation on the proposed endowment. The motion carried by voice vote.
Two residents said they would like to see the Marshal more onWashington Street.
   After discussion, it was decided to have the lawn service mulch the park this fall. It was also decided to table the renewal of the mowing contract until next spring.
   It was announced that there will be a meeting on October 23, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall to advise residents of financial assistance available from USDA Rural Development to help with the cost of hooking up to the sewer system.
  The Police Log was turned in for October.
  A motion was made by Jim and seconded by David to pay the Town claims in the amount of $8,232.15, the wastewater claims of $388,828.92 and the Water Department claims in the amount of $8,150.93. The motion carried by voice vote.
  The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. with a motion by Norma and seconded by David. The motion carried by voice vote.
