                        Minutes of the April 14th, 2026 Meeting


            The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday April 14th, 2026 at 7:00 p.m.at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Cox, Jim Moore, and Attorney Henry Antonini all
present. Larry Wilson was absent. A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Moore to accept the minutes of the March meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
            Karen Schneider from THRIVE was present to discuss the joint sidewalk project with Clinton, she told the board that she had sent two contracts for the board to look over and for Larry to sign, one was for the sidewalk inventory and the other was to update our Americans
with Disabilities Act & Title 6 Plans, these will be done in conjunction with the City of Clinton.
            Karen said her schedule to start the project is getting the interns that will be inventorying the sidewalks up and running by the end of May and from there it should take about 30 days to complete.
            Mike Kelley asked about the lot with the abandoned car on it, Larry said it is getting taken care of, Mike spoke about the corner of Second & Jackson St. that was having an issue with a semi cutting it close and getting up into the lot, he said they have put some logs and rock on the corner and so far the semi is taking another route thru the area. Mike also mentioned a
neighbor that has bags of trash that spills out and blows into several people’s yards, Larry said he would ask Mike Strader to check on this problem.
            A resident had a complaint about the junk yard on top of the hill on Third St., Larry explained that a certified letter was sent to the property owner who did not except it so the town had the town marshal hand deliver the certified letter giving them so many days to get their
property cleaned up or they would get fined, Larry said the fine could be $100.00 a day if the property is not cleaned up in the time they were given, Larry said he has drove by the area and they have started to clean up around the yard and that the town will stay on top of this.
            A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Moore to pay the towns claims in the amount of $14,768.43, water department claims in the amount of $16,266.35, the wastewater claims in the amount of $22,535.08, and storm water in the amount of $2,346.34.
The motion carried by voice vote
            The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 pm with a motion by Jim Hall and seconded by Tonya Cox, the motion carried by voice vote.
