Minutes of the August 9, 2005 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and our attorney Henry Antonini present.
The minutes of the July meeting and financial report were approved with a motion by Norma and seconded by Tonya. The motion carried by voice vote.
Larry advised that after meeting with CPA, Pat Callahan and Eric Smith, it was determined that a 13% increase was needed to meet all the financial obligations of the sewer department. Ordinance #2005-3, Amendment to Ordinance #2000-5 Rate Ordinance, was read in its entirety. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by David to pass said ordinance. The motion carried by voice vote.
After talking to a few people it was ascertained that installing carpeting in the town hall would be the easiest and least expensive way to reduce the noise. After a short discussion it was decided to explore other avenues. Jim Moore will try to contact the person that did work for his church for further options.
A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Norma to continue the discussion on Nuisance Ordinance 2005-4 until the next meeting to allow time for further study. The motion carried by voice vote.
IACT requested additional money to hire a consultant group for exploring other financing options besides property tax. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Norma to approve the request of $74.80 to IACT. The motion carried by voice vote.
The 2006 Budget pre-adoption meeting was set for August 31, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the town hall.
Jim Moore advised the Fire Dept will have their chicken BBQ on August 21.
A motion was made by Norma and seconded by David to pay the Town claims in the amount of $8,116.59, the wastewater claims of $7,705.72 and the Water department claims in the amount of $7,439.27. The motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m. with a motion by Tonya and seconded by David. The motion carried by voice vote.

Minutes of the August 31, 2005 Meeting
The Town Council held the Budget Pre-Adoption Meeting on August 31, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, David Crane and Norma Snedeker present. Tonya Smith was absent.
The 2006 budget was reviewed and discussed. There was no one present for public comment. A motion was made by Norma and seconded by Jim to pre-adopt the 2006 budget as presented. The motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m. with a motion by Jim and seconded by Norma. The motion carried.
