Meeting Minutes for December 14, 2021

                              Minutes of the December 14th, 2021 Meeting


             The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday December 14th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Cox, Larry Wilson, Jim Moore and Attorney Henry Antonini all present. A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Larry Wilson to accept the minutes of the November meeting, December’s special meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
             Under old business, Larry informed Loran Plunkett that more information will be needed for her proposed boarding kennel, the board requested copies of the building plans and also wants to know who her builder will be for this project Larry mentioned that since this will be a commercial building it will need to be inspected by the state. Jim Moore asked if the kennel will be a daycare or boarding, Loran stated it will be both with mostly dogs being boarded she said she will not be taking in any stray animals.
            Ordinance 2021-4 Salary Ordinance for 2022 was read in full and again by title only Tonya Cox made the motion to allow, Jim Moore seconded the motion, motion carried by voice vote.
             Larry asked Fire Chief Chad Moore to give a quick update on his department, Chad said the new overhead doors are still on order they plan to do electrical work in the fire house including a natural gas generator and he informed the board that all the administrative officers in the department will remain the same for 2022.
             Curtis gave a update for his department, he said last month they went on twelve service calls, three lockouts, four vin checks, seven gun permits, one motorist assist and two dog complaints, Curtis also mentioned they have their fourth car somewhat up and running for use in the town and that his department has completed their end of the training including their firearms qualifications, he also mentioned that sometime in January he will have a department meeting and equipment inspection. Larry Wilson asked about the speeding in town, Curtis said he personally has not pulled anyone over for speeding but two of his deputies have, James Williams has four pullovers and Mike Ray has had a couple. Leonard Akers complained about speeding in Jackson St. Curtis said he would keep watch out for it.
             A motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by Tonya Cox to pay the towns claims in the amount of $44,182.84, the water department claims in the amount of $16,278.79 with Storm water $30,709.75, the wastewater claims in the amount of $12,722.34. The motion carried by voice vote.
            The meeting was adjourned at 7:25pm with a motion by Jim Hall and seconded by Tonya Cox, the motion carried by voice vote.
