Minutes of the December 10th, 2024 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday December 10th, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Cox, and Jim Moore all present. Larry Wilson and Attorney Henry Antonini arrived late. A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded byJim Moore to accept the minutes of the November meeting and financial report. The motion
carried by voice vote.
Tonya Cox expressed some concerns about a property on Davis St. she said she has seen an electric cord running from a pole to a shed on the property and is concerned someone could be living in the shed, she also mentioned that there was a dog running loose there and was being aggressive toward her as she walked by Tonya asked the Town Marshal to check this out, she also stated that the properties on the east and west side of Tom Luft’s need to be
cleaned up.
Leonard Akers mentioned the issue with the computers again and that windows 10 in the near future will no longer update the security for it, he suggested that the town get new computers before anything happens. Larry said he had already spoken to someone about this and the town was in need of new hardware.
Larry asked if the fire department had anything new going on, Chad said no not right now, Larry also asked about the departments roster, Chad said all departments are low on volunteers right now and when a department gets toned out dispatch will send two departments
out to the locations. Chad stated all fire departments are helping one another right now.
Ordinance 2024-4 Salary Ordinance for 2025 was read in full and again by title only. Tonya Cox made the motion to approve the salary ordinance for 2025, Jim Moore seconded the motion, motion carried by voice vote
The clerk/treasurer asked the board if she could pay the town labors for their second pay on Monday Dec. 23rd instead of Tuesday Dec. 24th because of the holiday, she was given approval from the board to do so.
A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Hall to pay the towns claims in the amount of $65,363.48, the water department claims in the amount of $14,152.24, the wastewater claims in the amount of $272,157.06, and storm water in the amount of $2,346.34.The motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 pm with a motion by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Moore, the motion carried by voice vote.
