                         Minutes of the January 8, 2008 Meeting

             The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, Janet Troglio, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and Attorney Henry L. Antonini present.
             The minutes of the December meeting and financial report were approved with a motion by Norma and seconded by David. The motion carried by voice vote.
              A motion was made by Norma and seconded by David to retain all Council positions and Town employees. The motion carried by voice vote.
             A motion was made by Norma and seconded by David to renew the Fire Department, Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator and Engineering Retainer contracts for 2008. The motion carried by voice vote.
             A motion was made by Jim and seconded by Norma to approve the Clerk-treasurer's bond. The motion carried by voice vote.
             Leonard Akers advised those present of some Fairview Park trivia concerning Leonard Preston Gilmore, a Fairview Park resident that pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the early 1900's.
             Jim Moore advised that the Fire Department would begin interviewing candidates for the Cadet program on Thursday. He also advised that the Department roster is up to 19 members and that 4 coats need to be purchased.
             John Newman advised that he would get with Henry to determine next step for property on Towne and he would also check property on Lincoln.
             Janet Troglio advised of a possible road hazard at 4th and Plum. Sue will have the guys check the visibility due to the shrub and ask the property owners to trim it if needed.
             Larry advised that he wanted to see the water issue at 3rd and Washington taken care of this year. Several people will ask around for possible contractors and Jim Moore will talk with Neil Costello.
             Resident Isaiha Santos asked for work to be done on Davis Street between 1St and 2nd due to the mud, ruts and potholes. Sue advised they would work on it as soon as possible.
             A motion was made by Norma and seconded by David to pay the Town claims in the amount of $11,443.83, the wastewater claims of $5,337.06 and the Water department claims in the amount of $6,951.77. The motion carried by voice vote.
             The meeting adjourned at 7:22 p.m. with a motion by David and seconded by Janet. The motion carried by voice vote.
