Minutes of the January 8, 2013 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, Phyllis Lambert and Jim Moore and Attorney Henry Antonini was present. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Jim Moore to accept the minutes of the December meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
Jim Hall advised that a new merry-go-round has been ordered.
A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Jim Moore to retain Larry Natalie as Council President. The motion carried by voice vote.
A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to retain Jim Hall as Park Superintendent. The motion carried by voice vote.
A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to retain Henry L. Antonini as Town Attorney. The motion carried by voice vote.
A motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by Phyllis to retain Michael Strader as Town Marshal. The motion carried by voice vote.
A motion was made by Jim Hall and seconded by Tonya to retain all present office, street and utility workers. The motion carried by voice vote.
After being advised of the illness of Janitor William Weber, a motion was made by Phyllis and seconded by Tonya to appoint Becky Hall as Janitor. The motion carried by voice vote.
Larry advised that he would like to extend the WWTP operator contract for a short period of time to allow for some revisions of the responsibilities of same. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to extend the contract of the WWTP operator for one month. The motion carried by voice vote.
A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to retain Eric Smith as engineer. The motion carried by voice vote
A motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by Phyllis to renew the contract with the Volunteer Fire Department. The motion carried by voice vote.
Ordinance 2013-1, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SALARY ORDINANCE 201213, was read once in its entirety and once by title. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to pass said ordinance. The motion carried by voice vote.
Transfer Resolution 2013-2 was read. A motion was made by Phyllis and seconded by Tonya to pass said resolution. The motion carried by voice vote.
Don Klinge advised that damage sustained in a fire at 435 Davis will be repaired.
Mike Strader advised Reserve Deputy Ingram will be off for a few weeks due to injury and asked about the purchase of body armor for Nick Hall. He was advised to hold off on the vest due to EOC possibly purchasing one.
A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Jim Hall to pay the Town claims in the amount of $15,347.46, the water department claims in the amount of $8,000.89 and the wastewater claims in the amount of $6,042.42. The motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:22 p.m. with a motion by Phyllis and seconded by Tonya. The motion carried by voice vote.
