Minutes of the January 12th, 2021 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday January 12th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Cox, Larry Wilson and Attorney Henry Antonini, all present, Jim Moore was absent. A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Hall to accept the minutes of the December meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote
First was appointments for 2021, the positions are for president, park superintendent, attorney, marshal, office, street & water employees, engineering firm and fire department contract. Tonya Cox made the motion to retain everyone in the positions as they were in 2020 as well as the engineering firm and fire department contract, Larry Wilson seconded the motion, motion carried by voice vote.
The sale of the surplus property at 931 E. Third St., the board had requested Mr. Danklesen to attend the January meeting so they could be sure he understood the terms of the sale, Mr. Danklesen did attend the meeting and Larry explained the terms and conditions of the sale, first was that the past taxes must be payed then the house and trees on the property must be taken down, Larry said that since Mr. Danklesen’s bid was so much higher than the other bid they wanted to give him a chance to retract his bid if he wished too. Mr. Danklesen said that he did not know all the conditions of the sale. Henry ask him if he wanted to let his bid of $4,610.00 stand now that he knows the terms of the sale or let it go Mr. Danklesen chose to let it go, so the property went to the next bidders Mr. & Mrs. Downey with a bid of $1,200.00. Tonya Cox made the motion to accept the bid amount from Mr. & Mrs. Downey, Jim Hall seconded the motion, motion carried by voice vote
Tonya Cox mentioned a property and mobile home on Davis St. that needs cleaned up.
Fire chief Chad Moore said his department had made 147 fire and medical runs in 2020 and that department also had received their new pagers, he also mentioned the passing of retired fire chief Harold Benskin.
A motion was made by Jim Hall and seconded by Tonya Cox to pay the towns claims in the amount of $38,527.36, the water department claims in the amount of $16,829.41, the wastewater claims in the amount of $9,425.41, and the storm water bond in the amount of $27,790.18 The motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15pm with a motion by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Hall The motion carried by voice vote.
