Town of Fairview Park
Minutes of the July 14,2015 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 7:00p.m. at
the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council
members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, Phyllis Lambert and Jim Moore and attorney
Henry Antonini were present. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Jim Moore to
accept the minutes of the Jw1e meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
The revision of the town hall agreement is still in progress.
Larry advised that he spoke with representatives of EJT and received a quote to switch
over to auto read water meters. The quote of $195,000 was too cost prohibitive for Fairview
Park. He advised that he would entertain information from Utility Supply at a future meeting.
Larry informed that HWC has finished the ground water survey and will be at the
August meeting to go over the results.
A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to name the play park "The
Fairview Community Park". The motion carried by voice vote.
Mike Kelley complained of the holes on Parke just north ofF ourth. Sue advised they
had filled them with white rock, but it washed away and that as soon as she received patch the
holes would be filled.
Phyllis complained of a nuisance property at 562 S. Kibby. She advised that the grass
was high and there were 3-4 vehicles in the grass. The Marshal will take care of. Sue advised
that the letter came back for R & G property on Fulton and that the property on First across
from the high school needs to be looked out. A letter has been sent.
Leonard questioned the owners of the property between the church and the park as the
County's GIS shov.·s the owner as Mike West and the property by the ball park as it shows the
owner as Herman White.
Sue advised that a representative from Wellhead protection vvould be at the next
meeting. She would also have quotes for maintenance of the water towers for Council action.
Bill Grimm advised that he had deeded his son property Parke and then he received a
notice of a $900 sewer bill that was owed. We will pull the records and have an answer for the
next meeting.
Leonard advised that the Marshal's Department is doing a good job patrolling on
Jackson.
A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to pay the Town claims in the
amount of $12,375.83, the water department claims in the amount of $28,566.21 and the
wastewater claims in the amount of $6,716.62. The motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m. with a motion by Phyllis and seconded by Tonya.
