                                   Minutes of the July 13th, 2021 Meeting

              The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday July 13th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Cox, Larry Wilson, Jim Moore and Attorney Henry Antonini all present. A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Larry Wilson to accept the minutes of the June meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
             Mike Kelley ask the board if the town could spray for mosquitoes more than once a week, Larry said it would check
             Tonya Cox wanted to know if the town would look into getting some stop signs like the ones the City of Clinton has at the intersection of Ninth and Vine, she said she would like to have them for our intersection of Fourth and Washington. Larry said they could look into it, he also mentioned that he had asked the street department to straighten up all the street signs in town that are leaning or have been knocked down.
              Shawn Farley spoke about an issue with some drainage at the church on Fourth and Lincoln. They wanted to know if the problem belonged to them or the town, either way they are willing to fix it with help from the town, Shawn mentioned they have done some work on the drain before but the problem has gotten worse due to all the rain we have had lately, he asked the board if they could install a French drain in there parking lot to help relieve the standing water in the area, the board gave them the approval with Tonya Cox making the motion to allow the work to be done, Jim Moore seconded the motion, motion carried by voice vote. Larry said he would get with Sue and let them know what the town planned to do with the drain.
             Larry Wilson mentioned the new ADA ramps that the town was getting installed with the help from grant money he said the project was almost complete, Mike Kelley said the town should look at the sidewalks in other areas that need repaired.
              Resident Ray Sockwell complained about speeding on Washington St. and around town, he said it happens a lot throughout the day, he also witnesses many people run the stop signs at Fourth and Washington and his concern is someone will get hurt especially with the park/playground right there. Larry said that the town does not have a full time deputy, that maybe the county could help out and that residents should keep reporting things like this, Larry mentioned the town is trying for a full time deputy but funding is the problem.
             Fire chief Chad Moore spoke about a district meeting the department had hosted and that several members of his department were recognized for years of service one member was recognized for ten years of service, four members were recognized for twenty-five years of service.
              A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Moore to pay the towns claims in the amount of $31,752.41, the water department claims in the amount of $21,521.85 with transfer Storm water $2,315.85, the wastewater claims in the amount of $4,831.26 with bond payment in the amount of $26,531.25. The motion carried by voice vote.
             The meeting was adjourned at 7:25pm with a motion by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Moore, the motion carried by voice vote.
