                       Minutes of the June 14, 2011 Meeting


     The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Jim Snider, David Crane and Jim Moore and attorney Henry L. Antonini present. A motion was made by Jim Hall and seconded by Jim Moore to accept the minutes of the May meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
     Sue advised that she has not received an estimate for the work on Plum and Chestnut, but the guys are going to use our equipment and labor and start work on Chestnut and see how it goes.
     Larry advised that the Town did not receive the grant, but will reapply for the next round. He will have a meeting with Jill Curry, Kristy Jerrell and Eric Smith to go over info.
     Sue sent Ward Farrington a registered letter. No action has been taken. Complaints of trash blowing from the Wright property have been received. Butch will get with Henry for further action. Butch Kanizer was sent a letter in April concerning weeds on his property at 4th Street and SR 63. There has been no action to date. Larry will speak with him. Randy Hines property needs cut, Butch will contact him. Wyres property on Pike needs cut, Jim Moore will contact him.
     Leonard Akers advised of the death of John McCarty who was instrumental in obtaining grants for the town.
     There will be a public hearing on the grant application on June 27, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.
     Sue will be sending out the consumer letter the first part of July.
     A motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by Jim Snider to pay the Town claims in the amount of $12,153.34, the water department claims in the amount of $20,765.44 and the wastewater claims in the amount of $9,072.54. The motion carried by voice vote.
      The meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m. with a motion by David and seconded by Jim Hall. The motion carried by voice vote.
