                                       Minutes of the June 8th, 2021 Meeting

          The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday June 8th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, 
Larry Natalie, Tonya Cox, Larry Wilson, Jim Moore and Attorney Henry Antonini all present. A 
motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Larry Wilson to accept the minutes of the May meeting 
and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
            Mike Kelley spoke about the abandoned cars in the area of Park and Second streets, he said they are not licensed and no one is attempting to do anything with them.
            Leonard Akers asked if the town marshal had a new phone number yet and they did, the new cell phone number for the town marshal is 812-236-3332 as of right now there is only one phone and it goes with the deputy on duty.
            Tonya asked about the trailers on Lincoln and Davis streets, Deputy Williams said he would try to 
reach Michael Ray to find out what the current status is on them, she also asked
about the hole on Sixth St. if it had been repaired yet, for that information they will have to 
check with Sue Crossley.
            Jim Hall complimented the street department on the work they have done on the alleys and side 
streets in town, he said they look a lot better.
            Mike Kelley ask about the new police cars he mentioned that he would like to see them out more often, Larry explained they are needed more in the evenings and they are out more during that time and though out the night.
            Leonard Akers complained about the south bound lane of Washington St. where CenterPoint Energy had made a cut in the road then filled it with rock, he said there is a large hole there now and it 
needs to be fixed properly
            Shawn Colloms with CCS Buildings informed the board he is looking to purchase property in Fairview to build a small office building for his company it will be located just off Fourth St. between Gilbert and Kibby streets, he gave the board copies of his plans for the construction of the office he explained that his company builds pole barns and post frame buildings and currently has six employees, Larry asked him if he used heavy equipment and he
said no and nothing like that will be sitting out.
            A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Hall to pay the towns claims in the amount of $14,761.58, town portion $9,661.58 grants $5100.00, the water department claims in the amount of $13,831.60 with transfer Storm water $2,315.85, the wastewater claims in the amount of $11,469.34 with bond payment in the amount of $26,531.25. The motion carried by voice vote.
            The meeting was adjourned at 7:25pm with a motion by Tonya Cox and seconded by
Jim Moore, the motion carried by voice vote.
