                          Minutes of the March 8, 2005 Meeting

  The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at
7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and our attorney Henry Antonini present.
  The minutes of the February meetings and financial report were approved with a motion by Norma and seconded by Tonya. The motion carried by voice vote.
Henry gave Larry a copy of the proposed nuisance ordinance. Larry will review it and report back to the Council.
  Teresa advised that she had left messages for Bill Chaney at Cinergy to provide us with a more detailed estimate to move the poles in the middle of the parking lot. There has been no call back from Mr. Chaney.
  Neil Costello advised that INDOT load limits referred to pounds per axle. He will check further and try to get weight limits for some of the area bridges.
  Sue advised that the Adamovich property on  9th street is up for sale and that the sidewalks have not been repaired by Mr. Adamovich as agreed. She also asked advice on an occupied house that is not paying water bills. The council advised to charge flat sewer rates or advise that a lien would be put on the property.
  Jeff Brooks from Deeds Equipment presented information on a jet/vac truck for the wastewater utility. The council advised that additional proposals would be sought.
  Additional Appropriation Resolution 2005-2 was read. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Norma to pass said resolution. The motion carried by voice vote.
  Marshal John Newman requested the council approve John Newman Jr. as a reserve deputy Marshal. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Jim to accept. The motion carried by voice vote. Marshal Newman advised that he had appointed Rob Jackson as deputy marshal. The Marshal stated that the squad car would be housed at his residence and the reserve would come there to use. He also advised that he has 2 portable radios available and is trying to obtain a third one. John is also researching police vehicles for purchase.
  Leonard Akers asked about spraying for mosquitoes. Larry advised that he had received a letter that he would review and advise at the next meeting.
  Neil advised that he would be picking up the new tanker truck at the end of this week, depending on the transfer of funds from FEMA
  A motion was made by Norma and seconded by Tonya to pay the Town claims in the amount of $6,564.43, the wastewater claims of $4,973.96 and the Water department claims in the amount of $13,978.38. The motion carried by voice vote.
  The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. with a motion by Jim and seconded by David. The motion carried by voice vote.
