                      Minutes of the May 12, 2015 Meeting




          The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 7:00p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited.  Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, Phyllis Lambert and Jim Moore and attorney Henry Antonini present.   A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to accept the minutes of the April meeting and financial report.  The motion carried by voice vote.
          Jim Hall reported that one park light had been installed and the second would be in
place soon.
          Sue will send out three nuisance letters to Kanizer, White and Swann concerning their properties.  It was advised that most trash at 360 Jackson had been hauled away.
          Leonard Akers asked if the park had a name and commented that it would be nice if it
did. Larry advised that the Board would consider it.
          Don Kling advised that the BBQ dinner \vas successful and that fundraising continues on the radio upgrade.
          Greg Kelsheimer commented that the park benches needed painted.
          The Board approved mosquito spraying as long as there were sufficient funds.
          Teresa requested that the June meeting be rescheduled to allow her the opportunity to attend the State Board of Accounts School. The meeting was changed to Monday, June 8, 2015 at the regular time and place.
          Leonard Akers questioned why the curb by the park was painted yellow and there was a no parking sign there.  Sue advised that it was done for safety of the children that tend to run across the street between cars.
          Mike Kelley asked that the Water Dept. look into remote read meters to eliminate estimated billing.  Larry advised we could look into it.
          A complaint of potholes on Parke between Third and Fourth was voiced.  Sue advised that as soon as we received pothole mix they would be filled.
          Larry Beard questioned a chlorine smell in the water.  Sue advised that when the south well kicks on there sometimes  is a smell, but it is not harmful.  He also commented on 2 dead trees by the new fence.  He also questioned if Fairview Park wastewater had a land application permit.  Larry advised that he didn't believe so.
          A motion was made by Jim Hall and seconded by Tonya to pay the Town claims in the amount of $9,296.61, the water department claims in the amount of $11,618.56 and the wastewater claims in the amount of $8,525.75. The motion carried by voice vote.
         The meeting adjourned at 7:30p.m. with a motion by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis. The motion carried by voice vote.
