                            Minutes of the May 12th, 2026 Meeting

           The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday May 12th, 2026 at 7:00 p.m.at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Cox, Larry Wilson, Jim Moore, and Attorney Henry Antonini all present. A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Moore to accept
the minutes of the April meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
          There was no old business to discuss tonight.
Under new business Matthew Fouts spoke to the board about the property he owns at E.
4th and Gilbert Streets, he gave the board some drawings of plans he has for this property and was wanting to get the boards approval to build rental log cabins at this location, he said phase one would be only four cabins but when its all done there would be eleven cabins total. Matt said the cabins would be single cabins and he explained how the cabins would be rented out.
The board had a few questions for Matt and Larry asked what the difference is between this and a trailer court, Matt said the price of the build. Larry asked if this property is by the towns pit, if it is the town could have a right of way there. Larry explained the town will have to check with its engineer about hook-ups, location of the entrance & exits from this location since it is so
close to the schools, Larry told Matt the town will have to look into several things before they will be able to give him an answer on his plans for development at this location.
           Resident Bill Foster told the board that he is still having problems with his yard and with a sink hole by his driveway from the storm water project, he’s wanting to get it all repaired, he also mentioned that he owns both sides of an alley way behind his property and someone put up some signs saying private drive and no thru street, Bill wanted to know if the town had vacated the alley, Larry said no we haven’t and he would check on both of these
requests for him and speak to Robby Farrington also.
           Resident Mike Milam spoke to the board about a problem he has with his neighbor, he explained that his neighbor put up a fence on the property line, he said there is only 4 ft. between the property’s and he is the one who is taking care of this strip, he said he doesn’t want trouble with his neighbor and asked the board if they could put something in writing such as an
ordinance to keep this from happening to someone else and have it state that before a fence is installed all property owners it will effect must be notified and to have it so many feet from the property lines, Larry said he would check the towns plans on this.
           A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Larry Wilson to pay the towns claims in the amount of $13,886.77, water department claims in the amount of $16,442.33, the wastewater claims in the amount of $4,319.35, and storm water in the amount of $2,346.34.
The motion carried by voice vote
           The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm with a motion by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Moore, the motion carried by voice vote.
