                         Minutes of the November 12, 2013 Meeting



              The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, November 12,2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, Phyllis Lambert and Jim Moore and Attorney Henry Antonini was present. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to accept the minutes of the September meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
             Jim Moore advised that the Council and attorney should review the burning ordinance for any suggested changes and a final ordinance would be presented and voted on at the next board meeting.
             Don provided a copy of the contract with Helt T\wp that went into effect 10/29/2013.
             Ordinance 2013-5 AN ORDINANCE NOMINATIONG CANDIDATES FOR TOWN OFFICE was read in its entirety. A motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by Tonya. The motion carried by voice vote.
             Discussion was held on abolishment of election wards. The Council members want to review further. Resident Leonard Akers advised that he was in favor of abolishment and requested that his Council member vote in favor of it.
             Change order #1 to change 20 hp motor from a 15 hp. Motor at a cost of$1800 was presented. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to make the change. The motion carried by voice vote.
              A motion was made by Jim Hall and seconded by Phyllis to approve the pay request by National Water Service in the amount of $274,426.50. The motion carried by voice vote.
             Leonard suggested that County Clerk may have moneys available from voting place improvements to move the utility pole in the parking lot.
             Joyce Ramsey requested use of the town hall on November 23 at no charge in order to host a charity bazaar for the food pantry. A motion was made by Phyllis and seconded by Jim Moore to allow the use of the building. The motion carried by voice vote.
             Don Klinge advised that the Fire Dept would be having a Christmas auction on November 22 as a fund raiser.
              A motion was made by Phyllis and seconded by Tonya to pay the Town claims in the amount of $7,808.49, the water department claims in the amount of$30,468.32 and the wastewater claims in the amount of $273,178.97. The motion carried by voice vote.
             The meeting adjourned at 8:43 p.m. with a motion by Tonya and seconded by Jim Hall. The motion carried by voice vote.
