Minutes of the September 10, 2013 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 7:00p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, Phyllis Lambert and Jim Moore and Attorney Henry Antonini was present. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to accept the minutes of the August meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
Jim Moore met with Neil Costello and Don Klinge. They outlined a new burning ordinance with fines set. There was much discussion on the proposed ordinance. The Council and attorney are to review for any additions, deletions.
The 2014 budget was reviewed. There were no questions or comments.
The Clerk-Treasurer proposed a 25% increase in the water rate instead of the 37.1% increase that was passed in the rate ordinance. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Jim Moore to decrease the water rate increase to 25% to go into effect as soon as the software is in place. The motion carried by voice vote.
Sue advised that the 1998 truck is worn out and asked that the council approve
scrapping it. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to declare the 1998 truck as surplus and to scrap it. The motion carried by voice vote.
The water project is in the preliminary stages. Don Passed out a proposed fire contract with Helt Twp. He advised that he was meeting with Kevin Wickens to go over a few changes.
A motion was made by Jim Hall and seconded by Tonya to pay the Town claims in the amount of $17,858.17, the water department claims in the amount of $90,323.78 (water construction $79,975.00) and the wastewater claims in the amount of $6,970.57. The motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:58 p.m. with a motion by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis. The motion carried by voice vote.
