Minutes of the September 14, 2004 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and our attorney Henry Antonini present.
The minutes of the August meetings and financial report were approved with a motion by Tonya and seconded by Norma. The motion carried by voice vote.
Brad Emmert was present to address the issues at 6th and Lincoln Streets. Mr. Emmert proposed to build a catch basin on the north side of the property to catch rain water before it gets to the street, but he was unsure what to do about the corner flooding. He will meet with Hannum, Wagle and Cline to get their input. The property owners were asked to move the concrete blocks from the Town's right of way at 6th and Lincoln. They advised that the telephone cable would be buried in October. Lubovich has fixed the hole, but there is still some caving in of the street. Sue will contact them.
The Budget Ordinance was read and a motion was made by Tonya and seconded by David to approve the 2005 budget. The motion carried by voice vote.
Jim advised that Mr. Blackmore on Jackson is still making an effort to clean up his property. Jim advised him that legal action is on the way.
Jim Moore advised that the Fireman's chicken BBQ had a good turnout.
Neil Costello advised that the equipment for the rescue squad has been ordered and will be installed when received. He also advised that the department received a $4,000 grant from SEMA from the proceeds of the Hoosier Safety license plates. The grant will be used for lights, siren and other equipment.
The Additional Appropriations Resolution was read and a motion was made by Jim and seconded by Tonya to pass the resolution. The motion carried by voice vote.
A motion was made by Norma and seconded by David to pay the Town claims in the amount of $8,986.53, the wastewater claims of $11,023.79 and the Water department claims in the amount of $7,680.94. The motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m. with a motion by David and seconded by Tonya. The motion carried by voice vote.
