Town of Fairview Park
Minutes of the April 12, 2005 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and our attorney Henry Antonini present.
The minutes of the March meeting and financial report were approved with a motion by Norma and seconded by Tonya. The motion carried by voice vote.
Teresa will check with the County Highway Department to ascertain the weight limits for the bridges in the area.
Henry and Larry will meet to go over the sample nuisance ordinances and come up with a proposed ordinance for Fairview Park.
Teresa advised that Bill Chaney at Cinergy had left a message advising that so far it looked like the cost of moving the tight poles would be approximately $1,600, but no written estimate has been received yet.
Larry advised that he is waiting for a call from a company in Reelsville about spraying for mosquitoes.
Jane Tyler advised that the properties on Jackson street are still a mess. Henry and Larry will meet and discuss the issue, believing that once a new nuisance ordinance is adopted the process of getting property cleaned up will be smoother and easier.
Questions were raised concerning the lease at the ballpark. Larry will contact the lessee requesting insurance information and future plans that they may have.
Brian Strohm requested the Town's help if needed in getting a well filled in or covered properly on a property at 2nd and Towne Streets if the owner is not receptive to Brian's request. The Council agreed to send a letter if it became necessary.
Jim Moore advised that the new squad would be usable by the Chicken BBQ set for April 30, 2005.
A motion was made by Jim and seconded by Tonya to pay the Town claims in the amount of $17,091.69, the wastewater claims of $7,322.97 and the Water department claims in the amount of $9,658.04. The motion carried by voice vote.
