Town of Fairview Park
                     Minutes of the December 12, 2006 Meeting

      The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Tonya Smith, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and attorney Henry L. Antonini present. Larry Natalie arrived late.
      Tonya Smith conducted the meeting.
      The minutes of the November meeting and financial report were approved with a motion by Norma and seconded by David. The motion carried by voice vote.
      Leonard Akers asked the Council to look into an ordinance limiting trick or treating to one night with an age limit.
      After the Council reviewed the 2007 Wastewater budget a motion was made by Norma and seconded by Jim to approve it. The motion carried by voice vote.
      A motion was made by David and seconded by Norma to approve and accept the Clerk-treasurer's bond. The motion carried by voice vote.
      Transfer Resolution 2006-5 was read and a motion was made by Jim and seconded by David to accept the resolution. The motion carried by voice vote.
      Salary Ordinance 2006-6 was read and a motion was made by Norma and seconded by David to pass said. The motion carried by voice vote.
      Larry Beard questioned the financial standing of the water and wastewater utilities. Teresa advised that they were in good shape at this time. He also advised that he would like to see the WWTP operator contract put out for bid.
       Leonard Akers advised the Council of a new business being located close to Fairview Park with the possibility of adding them to our utilities. He also told the Council that the National Gypsum Co. has plants that manufacture acoustical tile that might be utilized in the town hall.
      Willie Wyres was advised that Fairview Park had no zoning at this time.
      Ed Kanizer asked the Council to consider adding a booster pump to waterlines by the golf course to allow for approximately 30 more taps. The Council will talk with our engineer and report back at the next meeting.
      Jim Moore will remain as Fire Department chief with Phil Bennett as Assistant Chief. He also advised that the current contract was approved for another year.
      The burned house south of the park is now in the possession of the insurance company. The fire department would like to use it for training before being torn down.
      A motion was made by Norma and seconded by David to pay the Town claims in the amount of $23,236.69, the wastewater claims of $5,686.98 and the Water department claims in the amount of $44,003.67. The motion carried by voice vote.
      The meeting adjourned with a motion by David and seconded by Jim. The motion carried by voice vote.
