                                 Minutes of the February 11th, 2020 Meeting

     The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday February 11th, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Cox, Larry Wilson, Jim Moore and Attorney Henry Antonini all present. A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Larry Wilson to accept the minutes of the January meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
     Curtis gave his marshal update he introduced three of his deputies Mike Ray, Nick Hall and Cole West. Curtis mentioned if anyone would like to speak to them they would be happy stay after the meeting, he said that his department is still working on getting the equipment they need and that his department has done some training with the Narcan. Larry Wilson asked about the grant for the police car and Curtis said that he is working with John Magee with Rural Development and that the town will need to be set up in the SAMS account which is a federal account for DUNS numbers that helps with the grants, he also talked about a grant for bullet proof vests which he is interested in applying for.
     Larry Natalie asked Fire Chief Chad Moore what the roster was for his department right now and Chad said twelve with it normally being twenty-four.
Jim Hall asked if the town had taken over the property on Gilbert St. yet and Larry said no, not at this time. Jim Moore requested that the property on Jackson St. be put back up for bid he mentioned someone has shown some interest in the property, Jim Moore then made a motion to put the property on Jackson St. back up for sale by sealed bids, Larry Wilson seconded the motion, motion carried by voice vote.
Larry Natalie gave the notice of award for the CCMG paving grant, the bid was certified by Brian Fleck with HWC Engineering, there was only one bid submitted for the project and it was from Wabash Valley Asphalt in the amount of $87,048.24. Larry ask the board for a motion to award the bid to Wabash Valley Asphalt, Jim Hall made the motion to award the bid, Tonya Cox seconded the motion, motion carried by voice vote. Larry stated that he believes the project will begin at the end of March or early April.
     Leonard Akers mentioned that Rail Road St. was in need of some attention and repairs.
     A motion was made by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Moore to pay the towns claims in the amount of $14,831.83 the water department claims in the amount of $16,911.21 the wastewater claims in the amount of $6,461.63 and the storm water claims in the amount of $25,000.00 The motion carried by voice vote.
     The meeting was adjourned at 7:20pm with a motion by Tonya Cox and seconded by Jim Hall, The motion carried by voice vote.
