Town Council Meeting Minutes for January 12, 2010

                             Minutes of the January 12, 2010 Meeting


    The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Jim Snider, David Crane and Jim Moore and attorney Henry L. Antonini present. A motion was made by Jim Snider and seconded by Jim Hall to accept the minutes of the December meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
     A motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by David to contract with Kristy Jerrel of WCIEDD to conduct the income survey for qualification of low to moderate income status. The motion carried by voice vote.
    Sue advised that a grate was placed over the large hole at the property at 3rd and Kibby. A letter has been sent about the condition of the property to Valley Tree Realty Services of Georgia. There has been no response yet. She also advised that the water well was placed back in service on December 31, but she's received no written report at this time.
    There was discussion concerning golf cart usage on town streets. Teresa will try to check Sullivan and Dana's ordinances. A motion was made by Jim Snider and seconded by Jim Hall to table the discussion until the next meeting. The motion carried by voice vote.
    A motion was mate by Jim Moore and seconded by Jim Snider to retain all personnel. The motion carried by voice vote
    A motion was made by Jim Hall and seconded by Jim Moore to renew the engineering contract with H.W. & C. The motion carried by voice vote.
    A motion was made by Jim Snider and seconded by Jim Hall to renew the Fire Department contract. The motion carried by voice vote.
    A motion was made by Jim Snider and seconded by Jim Hall to renew the WWTP Operator contract. The motion carried by voice vote.
     Transfer Resolution 2010-1 was read and a motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by David to allow the transfers. The motion carried by voice vote.
     Jim Snider commended the town employees for the good job on the streets during the recent snow storm.
     A motion was made by David and seconded by Jim Snider to pay the Town claims in the amount of $17,080.97, the water department claims in the amount of $8,062.10 and the wastewater claims in the amount of $9,033.33. The motion carried by voice vote.
     The meeting adjourned at 8:07 p.m. with a motion by David and seconded by Jim Snider. The motion carried by voice vote.
