Minutes of the June 13, 2006 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and attorney Henry Antonini were present. Tonya Smith was absent.
The minutes of the May meeting and financial report were approved with a motion by Jim and seconded by David. The motion carried by voice vote.
John Newman reported that Blackmore's have 2 weeks to finish the clean up and that lots of progress had been made. He advised that the Swann property has been cleaned up some, but he has been unable to make contact. John said that he had spoken to CSX on the phone and they would be sending someone to inspect the crossing on 4th St. John will speak with the town attorney for advised about trains blocking the crossing. His next step would be to contact our congressman and state representative.
Larry advised that he received quotes for mosquito control from Joe Davidson of Reelsville for $65 per mile for each application. That would be approximately $1,040 per application.
Information on acoustical tile was presented to the council. Teresa will try to get further prices from the Internet.
Leonard Akers presented a list provided by Larry Beard of properties in need of mowing. John Newman will deliver notice to these property owners.
The Vermillion County Health Department requests a time be set for them to give information on the anticipated pandemic influenza outbreak. The council would entertain that information at a regular meeting.
Leonard Akers was given permission to purchase new flags that are needed.
Sue will take care of blacktop that needs replaced on Davis from a tree removal.
A motion was made by David and seconded by Norma to pay the Town claims
in the amount of $8,665.19, the wastewater claims of $11,305.03 and the Water
department claims in the amount of $20,823.79. The motion carried by voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m. with a motion by David and seconded by
Norma. The motion carried by voice vote.
