Town Council Meeting Minutes for June 9, 16, & 29,  2009

                             Minutes of the June 9, 2009 Meeting


             The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, David Crane and Jim Moore and Attorney Henry L. Antonini present. Absent was council member Janet Troglio.
             Jim Hall reported that the restrooms for the park are complete. The total cost was approximately $500 under the estimate. Eli Lilly and Company donated $1,000 towards this project.
              Lubovich Excavating has made the cut across Third Street and will proceed with the drainage project after the rain.
              David spoke with the Cayuga Town Clerk-Treasurer about the special meters for watering and filling pools in order to eliminate the wastewater fee. Sue had a demo model to show the Council. Sue suggested that the Council consider using the meters for a day at a time to fill pools. Larry advised it needed further study.
              A resident asked the status of the request to blacktop Parke Street and requested that the Council consider it strongly. The Council will look at their options. Clinton City is using an economic development corp. out of Chicago as a funding source.
              Properties with high grass were discussed with Sue to send out letters as she did last year and if no response to cut the grass as before.
              A resignation was received from Reserve Deputy Marshal Brad Lawhorn effective June 7, 2009.
              Jim Moore advised that the old BBQ pits have been removed and that new pits will go in soon with all volunteer labor and the fire department paying any expenses. Jim also advised that the fire department would be painting the center stripe on June 20th.
              Sue advised that she would be getting the consumer letter ready for mailing.
              A motion was made by Jim Hall and seconded by Jim Moore to pay the Town claims in the amount of $13,418.79, the water department claims in the amount of $19,169.13 and the wastewater claims in the amount of $6,352.96. The motion carried by voice vote.
              The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m. with a motion by David and seconded by Jim Moore. The motion carried by voice vote.

                  Minutes of the June 16, 2009 Executive Meeting

         The Town Council held an executive meeting on June 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the town hall. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, David Crane and Jim Moore present. Council member Janet Troglio was absent.
         The Council received information classified as confidential by state or federal statute. The governing body certifies that no subject matter was discussed in the executive session other than the subject matter specified in the public notice.
         The meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m. with a motion by Jim Hall and seconded by Jim Moore. The motion carried by voice vote.

                 Minutes of the June 29, 2009 Special Meeting

         The Town Council held a special meeting on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, David Crane and Jim Moore present. Janet Troglio was absent.
         The Council reviewed applications for Reserve Deputy Marshal, asked questions of the Marshal and applicant.
         A motion was made to appoint Brian Laney and William Hoggatt as
Reserve Deputy Marshals. The motion carried by voice vote.
         The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m. with a motion by David and
second by Jim Hall. The motion carried by voice vote.
