Minutes of the March 11, 2008 Meeting
The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, Janet Troglio, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and Attorney Henry L. Antonini present.
The minutes of the February meeting and financial report were approved with a motion by Norma and seconded by David. The motion carried by voice vote.
Larry advised that Eric Smith resubmitted the hydrology study to the IURC. He is awaiting information from Pat Callahan and that grant applications were submitted to Ellsworth. Applications submitted were for Priority 1. New well, 2. Storm drainage on Washington Street, 3. Police vehicle. Leonard commended Larry for pursuing the grants.
Janet Troglio thanked the street department for removal of the obstruction at 4th and Plum Streets.
Dorothy Weir advised that obstructions at 4th and Lincoln Streets are also a problem. They will be looked at.
Phil Bennett will be looking at 2 defibrillators within the next week and will advise the council at the next meeting.
A picture of the Council was selected to be included in the Indiana Social Studies Book for Grade 2. The Council will request $250 for use of the picture.
John Newman will be having a neighborhood watch meeting in the near future.
Jim Hall received a request from Jim Kendrick for the donation of the lights at the ball park to be used for the Little Miss Softball field in Clinton. After a short discussion a motion was made by Norma and seconded by Jim to donate the lights to the Little Miss Softball League. The motion carried by voice vote.
Henry advised that Tony Avenatti had contacted him to let the Town know that he would be interested in selling the lot next to the park on contract.
Kenny Swann was advised that he would be able to install his sewer line anytime after March 15 as long as the connection fee had been paid.
Dorothy Weir requested an adjustment on her water bill after experiencing a leak. Sue and Mary Kay will check.
A motion was made by Janet and seconded by David to pay the Town claims in the amount of $9,839.71, the wastewater claims of $5,061.20 and the Water department claims in the amount of $6,442.28. The motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m. with a motion by David and seconded by Norma.
