                          Minutes of the March 14, 2006 Meeting
 
    The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and attorney Henry Antonini were present.
    The minutes of the February meeting and financial report were approved with a motion by Tonya and seconded by David. The motion carried by voice vote.
Some trash has been removed from the Jackson Street nuisances. The marshal will be contacted to advise the status.
     Teresa advised that she has been in contact with Mayer Acoustics concerning the town hall. They are to send 2 estimates on different options.
     David advised that the tree cut behind Shirley & Earl Clayton's was not the one they were concerned about. Sue will check that and a limb dangling at 4th & Davis.
     The trees by the firehouse and Jim Moore's have been removed.
     Shawn Farley, Pastor of Four Square Church addressed the Council with his concerns about parking at 4th and Lincoln. He is getting "No Parking" signs to be put up. He proposed that 4-way stop signs be installed at this intersection. The Council advised they would take it under advisement to allow time to talk with fire, police and street departments. Sue advised they could possibly remove the bush at that corner.
     Teresa advised that the Indiana Dept of Local Government Finance cut the Motor Vehicle Budget by $962.00.
     A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by David to sign a retainer with Hannum, Wagle and Cline Engineering. the motion carried by voice vote.
     Ordinance #2006-1, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 1996-1, AN ORDINANCE REGULATION MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT OF TOWN OFFICIALS FOR THE TOWN OF FAIRVIEW PARK, INDIANA was read once in its entirety and twice by title. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Norma to pass said ordinance. The motion carried by voice vote.
    Jim Hall received complaints of excessive noise from National Gypsum plant. Management has been talked with and they will check into it.
    Larry is looking into a hanging 4-way stop sign at 4th and Washington.
    Shawn Farley asked about placing a 4 X 6 sign in front of the church. He was advised as long as it wasn't on the Town's right of way he could.
    Neil Costello explained a proposal to help resolve the drainage problem on Washington in front of the firehouse. A motion was made by Norma and seconded by Tonya to allow Neil to proceed with his proposal. The motion carried by voice vote.
    A motion was made by Norma and seconded by Tonya to pay the Town claims in the amount of $12,374.31, the wastewater claims of $6,520.94 aid the Water department claims in the amount of $6,713.15. The motion carried by voice vote.
    The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m. with a motion by David and seconded by Jim. The motion carried by voice vote.
