The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, Janet Troglio, David Crane and Norma Snedeker and Attorney Henry L. Antonini present.

Jim Hall advised that the Clinton Girls Softball League is still interested in getting the ballpark lights. He advised that the field has been used some for evening practice.
Larry advised that he has a list of properties for the Marshal to check for nuisances. Henry advised that it was his opinion that the property owners be given notice with a specific amount of time to abate the nuisance. If the nuisance is not abated, then a suit should be filed in circuit court to abate the nuisance and if the judge finds in the town's favor he would issue an order to abate, allowing the Town workers to enter the property and clean it up.
Sue advised of complaints of dog droppings in the park where owners have not been cleaning up after their animals. Jim will look at the problem and in the mean time signs advising animal owners to clean up after their pets will be posted in the park.
A letter was received requesting a donation for Clinton's 4th of July celebration. A motion was made by Jim and seconded by Janet to donate $100 to the cause. The motion carried by voice vote.
Jim Moore advised that the fire department has received 2 defibrillators plus supplies and will be trained on those May 22. He also advised of the vandalism of the BBQ pits at the park and discussed either fencing them in after repairing or moving them to the back portion of the park and fencing. Both possibilities will be considered. Jim also questioned the purchase of the lot next to the park. With a purchase price of over $16,000 it is not feasible at this time.
Sue advised that the Town will need a new snow plow for next winter. She will get pricing for the next meeting.
Jim has been working on the drainage problem in front of the fire house.
Jim Moore mentioned that work on the bricks, windows, etc in the old town hall was needed. It was mentioned looking into the Historical Landmarks organization for grants.
A motion was made by Jim and seconded by Norma to pay the Town claims in the amount of $16,190.45, the wastewater claims of $6,352.29 and the Water department claims in the amount of $6,985.91. The motion carried by voice vote.
