                       Minutes of the May 12, 2009 Meeting


          The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members James Hall, Larry Natalie, David Crane and Jim Moore and Attorney Henry L. Antonini present. Absent was council member Janet Troglio.
          Sue advised that the doors for the park restrooms have been ordered. After receiving the doors the building should be completed in less than 2 weeks.
          A motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by David to have Lubovich Excavating proceed with the drainage project at Third and Washington Streets. The motion carried by voice vote.
          Questions were asked concerning the possibility of getting special meters for watering and filling pools in order to eliminate the wastewater fee. Larry advised it needed further study and he would look into it.
           Jim Ferguson was concerned about a resident giving water to another resident that had had his water shut off. The water department is aware of the situation.
           Leonard Akers advised that he thought the Plum Street drainage project would fit within the parameters of projects to be looked at by West Central Economic Development.
            Sue has received complaints of high grass. She will send out letters as she did last year.
            A complaint was received about a resident storing garbage/trash in their house and garage and another resident claiming his property is an animal refuge habitat. The Marshal will check and if needed contact the Health Department.
           Sue advised that mosquito spraying would begin soon.
           Jim Moore advised that the old BBQ pits have been torn down and new pits will be built.
           Sue advised that the park would be closed on May 18th due to Lilly employees cleaning and painting. The park will be barricaded and a notice will be placed in the paper.
            Leonard asked that the amount going into the flag fund from the general fund be raised to $350 due to the number of new flags that are needed.
            A motion was made by David and seconded by Jim Hall to pay the Town claims in the amount of $11,710.10, the water department claims in the amount of $9,288.53 and the wastewater claims in the amount of $10,007.65. The motion carried by voice vote.
            The meeting adjourned at 7:32 p.m. with a motion by David and seconded by Jim Moore. The motion carried by voice vote.
