                                    Minutes of the November 11, 2014 Meeting


         The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, November 11,2014 at 7:00
p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Tonya Smith, Phyllis Lambert and Jim Moore and Attorney Henry Antonini was present. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to accept the minutes ofthe October meeting and financial report. The motion carried by voice vote.
         ORDINANCE 2014-8, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 2014-5, AN ORDINANCE DEFINING STOP INTERSECTIONS AND PENAL1Y FOR VIOLATION IN THE TOWN OF FAIRVIEW PARK, INDIANA, was read in its entirety and by title. A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Jim Hall to pass said ordinance. The motion carried by voice vote.
          Sue advised that the "Children Playing" signs are on order
          Jim Hall advised that the slide has been repaired.
         Henry advised that he needed to check with the Marshal before drafting an order and filing with the court on the Tierney property. Sue advised that the front part ofthe Kanizer lot north ofthe Iron Skillet was cleaned by town workers, but that heavy equipment was needed to clean the remainder. The police department  will deliver a letter to Kanizer and Henry will talk with them.
         Due to an election grant a new door will be installed in the town hall. It was decided to go with a 42" door with bronze sidelights.
         Don Klinge presented 2 quotes for a new heat exchanger in the fire department. Andrews Heating for $2,695 and Layton's for $2,658. A motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by Tonya to have Andrews Heating install the new heat exchanger which included a directional blower. The motion carried by voice vote.
Don also asked that a stipulation be added to the fire department contract that any appropriation balances at the end ofeach year be given to the fire department. The council was in favor of said addition to the contract.
         Becky Hall resigned as custodian of the town hall. John Sanquenetti will take her place. The Council will consider raising the amount ofthe donation for use ofthe building. Phyllis will research what other communities do.
         Leonard Akers advised that there was a mess from where the trees had been trimmed on Railroad. Sue advised it was scheduled to be cleaned up soon.
Don Klinge thanked all for supporting the fire department chili supper.
        Neil Costello believes there is a problem with the plumbing system in the town hall due to a sewer odor he has detected on numerous occasions.
        A motion was made by Tonya and seconded by Phyllis to pay the Town claims in the amount of$8,594.63, the water department claims in the amount of$15,031.78 and the wastewater claims in the amount of $12,852.72. The motion carried by voice vote.
         The meeting adjourned at 7:36 p.m. with a motion by Phyllis and seconded by Tonya. The motion carried by voice vote.
