Meeting Minutes for Tuesday,October 11,2011

             Minutes of the October 11, 2011 Meeting


             The Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The Pledge to the Flag was recited. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Jim Snider, Phyllis Lambert and Jim Moore. Our attorney Henry L. Antonini was absent. A motion was made by Jim Snider and seconded by Jim Hall to accept the minutes of the September meeting and financial report. The motion
carried by voice vote.
            The 2012 budget ordinance was read and a motion was made by Phyllis and seconded by Jim Moore to pass the 2012 budget. The motion carried by voice vote.
             Fire Chief, Don Klinge, advised that the fire department received their rescue tools and they can be viewed at the fire station. Once training is completed by the tool company they will be put into service.
             A letter of resignation from Marshal Butch Garver was read.
             Larry advised the public that an executive meeting had been held earlier in the day to discuss applicants. A motion was made by Jim Moore and seconded by Jim Snider to appoint Michael Strader as Marshal. The motion carried by voice vote.
             Jim Moore expressed his appreciation for all the work the Reserve Marshals have done.
             Nick Hall advised that the Prosecutor presented the police department with three new digital cameras with disks and three digital audio recorders.
             Phyllis requested that the police department issue press releases when break-ins occur so that the public can take extra precautions.
             A motion was made by Jim Hall and seconded by Jim Snider to pay the Town claims in the amount of $16,910.75, the water department claims in the amount of $11,019.67 and the wastewater claims in the amount of $13,418.03. The motion carried by voice vote.
             The meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m. with a motion by Phyllis and seconded by Jim Moore. The motion carried by voice vote.

            Minutes of the October 11, 2011 Executive Meeting


            The Town Council held an executive meeting on October 11, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the town hall. Roll call was taken with council members Jim Hall, Larry Natalie, Jim Snider, Phyllis Lambert and Jim Moore present.
            The Council received information classified as confidential by state or federal statute. The governing body certifies that no subject matter was discussed in the executive session other than the subject matter specified in the public notice.
            The meeting adjourned at 6:37 p.m. with a motion by Jim Snider and seconded by Phyllis. The motion carried by voice vote.

                Minutes of the Election Board Meeting
                              Town of Fairview Park
                                 October 25, 2011


     The election board consisting of Mary Kay Frazier, Democrat appointment, Donna Nolan, Republican appointment and Teresa Baker as Clerk-Treasurer, met on October 25, 2011.

     Marry Kay was elected as chairman.
It was decided by unanimous vote to:

1.)use the same poll workers for both precincts and to combine positions as allowed by law, thus having an inspector and two judges,
2.)to use strictly paper ballots,
3.)to compensate all workers and the Democrat and Republican election board members $10 per hour,
4.)to provide breakfast and lunch to the poll workers with a cap of $10 per meal per person,
5.)to conduct absentee voting on November 1, 2011, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Town Hall,
6.)to run an ad in the paper on November 7 saying "Residents of Fairview Park, exercise you right to vote, Town election November 8, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall"
